Availability for medium- to long-term service

How does it work?
#01 Fill in the form
We need information about the professional and her work in order to forward requests for help in a qualified manner. On the form we also provide the Volunteer Agreement to be signed by the volunteer.

#02 Training
To start receiving requests for help, volunteers must complete all the modules of our training course. It's a quick course to get a detailed understanding of the workings and methodology of volunteering at Mapa do Acolhimento.

When a woman receives the volunteer's contact to start a service, a notification will be sent by email. All our communications regarding the services will also arrive there.

All volunteers have access to groups in our community to exchange experiences with other volunteers and have direct contact with the Mapa do Acolhimento support team

Frequently asked questions
How long do the services last?
The duration of the service will depend on the needs of the woman being assisted. Volunteers, both psychologists and lawyers, must be able to provide short, medium or long-term services.
Can the service be remote?
Yes, the type of service must be agreed directly between the volunteer and the survivor who will receive the service, in a way that works for both of them.
Can university students volunteer?
No. We only register trained professionals who are registered with their respective professional regulatory bodies, as we need the backing of these councils.
Is there support for the services?
Yes, Mapa's team is multidisciplinary and offers all the support. In addition, we have an exclusive community of volunteers on WhatsApp, which serves as a space for exchange, support, and collective empowerment. We provide training with all the details of volunteering and topics relevant to the provision of services to women in situations of violence. To further deepen this knowledge, we offer spaces for discussing cases with the participation of our team and other volunteers in the network.
