An organization made by and for women.

Since 2016, we have been working to provide support for survivors of violence throughout Brazil.Behind the scenes of our operation is a dedicated team of women from different specialties, based in different parts of the country.

Our story

It was 2016, and a collective rape made the news all over the country. The outrage at this episode mobilized us to create Mapa do Acolhimento - at the time, a one-off campaign to connect victims of sexual violence with volunteer psychologists.

Thanks to the power of collective action, what was born as a temporary initiative has grown so much that it has become an ongoing and expanded effort, covering all types of gender-based violence, expanding the call to include volunteer lawyers and reaching women from the north to the south of Brazil.

Today, Mapa do Acolhimento is an independent organization, with different strategies aimed at guaranteeing women humanized and effective services. We have been working to ensure that support after a situation of violence is accessible to all women, whether through our network of volunteers or through public services.

In this way, we hope that every Brazilian woman can live without violence, with the dignity and agency to decide her own path and rewrite her story.
